I'd like to propose a toast to the daughter of Joe and Eva and the son of Carl and Jean. When Bob told me I was to be the best man at his wedding, I was of course honored. I thought about Bob and Joette and looked for the inspiration for this toast. I wanted to capture their relationship and tell them, and you, what I thought about their marriage and what I am sure will be their long and happy life together. I looked up into to the sky and stared at the brightest star I have ever seen. I'm from LA so with the smog and light pollution we only get to see the brightest stars. I wondered why this star was so much brighter than the rest and I thought maybe it's a binary star. A binary star is really two stars locked in orbit with each other and from a distance they look like a single bright star. Each star is complete and whole it doesn't need the other to exist but when combined they burn brighter and hotter. When I look at Bob and Joette I'm sure that apart they are as complete and whole as any star in the sky, but together they create a fire much brighter and hotter that most couples can every hope to achieve. Please join with me in toasting Mr. and Mrs. Hartman. |
